Superior Court Dismisses Residency Challenges Against Brandon Lofton
 

August 27, 2018 – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Superior Court judge dismissed the appeal of an unsuccessful Republican challenge of Democratic candidate Brandon Lofton’s voter registration.

 

The decision puts an end to the GOP’s attempt to thwart Lofton’s candidacy for House District 104. In April, the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections dismissed a complaint challenging Lofton’s voter registration.
 
“These questions about my residency were a misguided attempt by my opponents to distract voters from the real issues,” Lofton said. “I’m thankful that the court has resolved these questions, so we can focus on what really matters to voters in District 104.”
